Julieta Alcántar-Garcia
As a lifetime resident of West Chicago and member of West Chicago Azul, Julieta has been encouraged to run for alderwoman with the belief that “It is important that all of our residents and our city council and public agencies have regular and positive communication to work together for our community.” Julieta believes that West Chicago can become a more integrated community and that its leaders should be more accessible and listen to the community and provide as much support as possible. Denise Carreto-Muñoz
Denise is a lifelong resident of West Chicago. She is currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience. Denise wants to represent the Hispanic/Latino community and believes “West Chicago has the potential to be an even better place for its residents, and for that to happen, it is essential that all voices are heard and considered.” She hopes to work collaboratively with all members of our community to help West Chicago reach its full potential. Carlos Avina Soto
Carlos has worked in special education for five years. One of Carlos’ goals is to improve the quality of life in our community by enhancing public services, focusing on education. He is passionate about removing barriers and creating opportunities for marginalized communities and underrepresented voices. Matthew Myers
Matthew and his wife have lived in West Chicago for 20 years, raising their 3 children here. His family renovated the historic Wiant House, brought a business to downtown, and are invested in West Chicago in every way.
