
WHAT: Casa Michoacán, the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce, and the Islamic Center of the West Suburbs invite the public to a reception before and after the swearing-in of West Chicago’s new mayor and city council members.
WHEN: Monday, May 5—Reception 6:30-8:30pm, Swearing-in Ceremony 7:00pm
WHERE: West Chicago Community High School Cafetorium, Entrance 25 (formerly Entrance H), 326 Joliet St., West Chicago, IL 60185
WHY: The public is invited to a community celebration for the official swearing-in ceremony of West Chicago’s newly elected mayor and city council members, to include a performance by Ballet Folklorico, specials at food trucks from La Cocina de Maria and Taqueria St. Barbara, and other refreshments.

West Chicago Candidates Forum Scheduled for March 18
West Chicago residents will have an opportunity to hear from local candidates at the upcoming Candidates Forum on Tuesday, March 18, at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St.,with attendees asked to enter through Door H.
Hosted by the League of Women Voters to inform voters ahead of the April municipal elections, the forum will feature candidates for West Chicago Library Board, City Council, and Mayor. Each group will have a designated time slot to discuss their platforms and answer community questions.
This event is sponsored as an aid to voters solely by the the League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization.
